E.C. Styberg Engineering has a full compliment of machining and forming capabilities to form housings and drive discs for mechanical operations. One primary process is called Grob Splining, cold forming splines on components from 4.75 to 14" diameters.
Although the splines can be cold-formed by several different processes, it is generally recognized that the "Grob" process produces the most accurate form and to a greater depth than any of the presently available machines or processes.
Utilizing the "Grob" cold forming process now gives E.C. Styberg Engineering Co. the capability of fabricating large, heavy-duty, clutch housings at a substantial cost savings. Syberg Engineering, in collaboration with "Grob" engineers, is pleased to offer assistance in designing finished components that will be supplied trimmed to length and complete with oil slots, snap-ring grooves, etc.

Cold Formed Advantages
Achieve cost savings by reducing intial weight and finished part weight thru raw material selection.
Flexibility of component designs result in improved overall product capabilitites.
Material grain structure is improved, resulting in higher tooth strength and less distortion than with a metal cutting process.
Part to part tolerance variations are less than with metal removal
Save process time by having no metal removal or cutter wear and replacement
