EC Styberg has presses that can handle up to 1000 tons using materials ranging from 1008-1080 Carbon steel to Stainless and Aluminum. The presses can handle material sizes up to .5 inch thick X 24 inches wide and forming up to .375 thick. Styberg is also capable of drawing parts up to 12 inch in overall height, .375 thick and 20-inch diameters on 500 ton Hydraulic presses.
E.C. Styberg Engineering is equipped with full press and tooling design capabilities along with an extensive tool & die department in-house. This allows creation of deep drawn stampings from a large variety of materials, thicknesses and diameters.
Capable of deep drawing material thicknesses from .5 mm (.020") to 9.5 mm (.375") ...
E.C. Styberg Engineering has full compliment of machining and forming capabilities to form housings and drive disc for mechanical operations. One primary process is called Grob Splining, cold forming of splines on components 4.75 to 14" in diameters. Although the splines can be cold-formed by several different processes, it is generally recognized that the "Grob" process produces the most accurate form and to the greatest depth of any of the presently available machines or processes.
Utilizing the "Grob" cold forming process now gives E.C. Styberg Engineering Co. the capability of fabricating large, heavy-duty, clutch housings at a substantial cost savings. Syberg Engineering, in collaboration with "Grob" engineers, is pleased to ...
Styberg produces Custom Belleville Springs from 2 to 30 inches diameter, using size control heat-treating to maintain specific load requirements (the load can be calculated in the design to fit most applications). Wholesaler of some standard size springs and manufacturer of specially designed springs.
Belleville springs are thoroughly checked for load capacity and fatigue behavior. Common metals used in spring manufacturing are:
Horizontal and vertical: E.C. Styberg Engineering's strong secondary assets: Machine parts from 3 to 24" OD's (Outside) diameters to any size, contours and/or finish requirements to a tolerance of less than .0004": Vertical machine parts that require up to 52 different tool changes in one operation in a 5-axis environment. To compliment the machining operations there is also Shape and Hob splines, drill, tap and balance components and assemblies.
Experience in Machining:
Hardened metal
Flexplate metal
Custom coned springs
Spring retainers
Mil-spec components
Secondary Machining
The more complex and multi-operation the project ...
E.C. Styberg can engineer complex, thick robust designs to eliminate multiple operations or components that must be assembled at a later date, thus eliminating increased costs, inventory of parts and assembly time. In addition, maintaining some tight tolerances which will also lead to less machining later.
Can that component can be produced by means of forming?
E.C. Styberg Engineering's heat treating capabilities include neutral harden carbon and stainless steels up to 1900 degrees. While stress Relieving up to 1200 degrees F. Both in a free state or on specially designed fixtures produced at Styberg Engineering.
E.C. Styberg employs numerous quenching processes including water, nitrogen, oil, and vacuum. Mitigating shape deformation is one of the many challenges handled regularly. In addtion Stybergs savy team can provide material selection consultation and the proper heat treatment process for your unique part.
E.C. Styberg is able to weld material from Carbon to Stainless steel in many forms - ring gears flywheels, couplers, Aerospace stainless engine components and Spotweld different thickness and grades of material together. Styberg welds are used by a variety of industries and products, including: aerospace, transmission components, marine, flexplates, brackets and ring gear assemblies. In addition, E.C. Styberg provides parts and weldments for worn or damaged fork lift, fork truck and mining trucks.
Styberg is staffed with certified welders, experienced in seam, butt, and fillet welding and other welding methods.
As a full-service metal component fabricator E.C. Styberg can handle the complete fabrication of a part whether the part is an individual piece or requires multiple pieces and assembly.
